Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga has not made joining Everton his priority.
Everton have an interest in signing Japhet Tanganga this summer, as per Inter Live. However, it seems that the 24-year-old Tottenham Hotspur defender, who has also been targeted by Luton Town, is keen on a switch to Inter Milan.
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, was asked about the future of Tangaga, given Everton wanting to sign him. Lyall said, “I think he’s waiting for Inter. Inter Milan are interested in him as well [along with Everton]. He’s on their shortlist…If you’re Tanganga and you missed out on a dream move to AC Milan last summer, it makes sense to wait this one out. There is Premier League interest in him as well.”
Spurs will have no qualms about moving Tanganga on this summer. He is a talented defender and came through the north London club’s academy, but he isn’t high in the pecking order, and Spurs have already signed Micky van de Ven this summer to strengthen their rearguard.

Everton will struggle to tempt Tanganga
At this stage in his career, Tanganga needs regular football. He was never able to establish himself as a regular starter for Spurs, and he needs to make his next move with maximising his prospects of game time in mind.
Tanganga would likely be given plenty of chances to shine were he to join Everton. The Toffees’ back line is due an upgrade, and James Tarkowski and Michael Keane have both endured poor starts to the season. Sean Dyche must be considering his options to add to his defensive contingent.
Whilst, in many ways, a move to Goodison Park makes sense for Tanganga, the pull of Inter Milan is understandable. He will back himself to get minutes in Serie A, and will of course also have the chance to play Champions League football.
