Everton’s summer just gets better and better when it comes to the transfer window, as they are slowly forging a team inundated with depth and quality.

It’s ludicrous how quickly their transfer strategy has shifted from a scattergun approach that poured money down the drain to a calm, incisive method that has already started to bear fruit.

Now only spending with the funds they have accumulated over years of selling assets and netting profits, their self-sustaining model has allowed them to enjoy a summer laden with new acquisitions set to bolster their squad tenfold.

Jack Harrison, Tim Iroegbunam and Iliman Ndiaye offer three fine new faces, but Everton’s signing of Jesper Lindstrom will likely excite fans the most.

Having all but announced that acquisition, with Fabrizio Romano giving it his patented seal of approval, the Danish maestro is set to offer something completely unique to this Everton side.

After all, when the summer started, they were a team lacking in any real technical excellence or flair, instead built upon hard work and boasting a greater desire to win than their opponents.

And whilst they will hopefully retain that, sprinkling in the quality of Lindstrom and Ndiaye should help them unlock defences more often too.

It will definitely help if they can somehow add even more attacking talent into the mix, which iNews has suggested they might. Their latest report reads: ‘Everton are set to step up their interest in Leeds forward Wilfried Gnonto as they wrap up a loan deal for Denmark winger Jesper Lindstrom.

‘In a move that insiders say illustrates the club’s intention to persevere with their original transfer blueprint despite the collapse of the Friedkin Group takeover last week, Everton have secured a breakthrough in talks with Lindstrom’s parent club Napoli.’

Wilfried Gnonto is next on Kevin Thelwell’s list

Everton’s interest in Wilfried Gnonto is something that has spanned well over a year now, with last summer having also been dominated by the Italy international’s future.

However, having failed to secure his signature due to financial limitations, they no longer seem to be a factor.

The 20-year-old was desperate to join in 2023, even handing in a transfer request to force through the move, so convincing him should not prove too tough.

It is just whether Thelwell can negotiate a more agreeable deal than the £25m being mentioned.

After all, what he would add to this side is dynamism and unpredictability on the flank, with a much-needed pace injection set to give Sean Dyche a wealth of attacking talent and variance.

For years they have lacked someone with the ‘magic’ that journalist James Marshment claims Gnonto has.

Goodison Park will patiently await his imminent arrival.
