Everton have just claimed a hugely important victory to go clambering up the Premier League table, with David Moyes suffering at the hands of his former employers by a 1-0 margin.

It was an outstanding display from most involved for the visitors, who remained imperious at the back but clinical in attack for the onlooking prospective new owners.

However, there were a few standout names, not least the match-winner Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The England international was as workmanlike as ever up front, spearheading their press and offering an integral outlet all game. As such, his 8.0 rating made him the outstanding performer, buoyed by his one key pass, six aerial duels won, and clinical winning goal, via Sofascore.

To turn and finish with such ease outlined the return of a man that has been so riddled with injuries in recent years, as the former Sheffield United man took another gargantuan step towards complete sharpness.

However, there was another on the field who arguably outshone the 26-year-old, orchestrating everything good that the visitors accomplished. Today was also a coming of age for Amadou Onana too.

How did Amadou Onana play vs West Ham?

Having often been a lightning rod for criticism due to his large price tag and loud personality, Evertonians were shown today just how important their 22-year-old maestro can be.

After all, during an uninspiring first half in which neither side seemed interested, he emerged as a sole shining light, demanding possession and trying his best to force the issue.

As such, the Belgium international enjoyed 63 touches of the ball, recycling the ball to maintain an 89% pass accuracy which included three successful long balls of the four attempted, via Sofascore.

However, his performance was not limited to creativity, which his one key pass and one successful dribble emphasised, as he would also win 12 of the 17 duels he competed in at a 70% win rate, making six tackles.

The former LOSC Lille man would see such a stunning afternoon outlined, with Statman Dave taking to Twitter to brand him ‘imperious.

If Everton are to enjoy a season free of the stress a relegation battle brings, there is no doubt that Onana will be a key figure in ensuring this.
