Everton are back down in the capital for their final Premier League game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur – and the club’s record in London on the last day makes for concerning reading.

Many eyes will be on today’s game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Everton’s recent form means European football is now off the table. But plenty will be watching to see if Spurs will be relegated.

For the last time this season, let us know your prediction ahead of Sunday’s game… 🫩

Could Everton really send Spurs down? 😳

They’re two points ahead of West Ham United. So defeat to Everton combined with West Ham beating Leeds United will send Spurs down.

Everton come into the game in poor form though, having gone six without a win in the league.

It has left a lot of fans rather disgruntled – and winning today could be a tall order given Everton’s record in London on the final day.

Everton’s season has unfortunately finished with a real whimper.

Moyes had the team in such a good position at the time of the last international break.

But Everton have lost all momentum now, with Moyes making a number of poor decisions, as well as some players making mistakes. There have also been some poor officiating decisions.

Everton are now bidding to finish in the top half.

But winning today will not be easy. Not only will Spurs obviously be extremely pumped up to stave off relegation, but Everton’s record in London on the final day of seasons is not good.

Indeed, as per BBC Sport, Everton have played away against London opposition nine times since the Premier League’s inception.

And the Toffees have won just one of those previous nine matches, which came against Fulham all the way back in 2009.

This was a 2-0 win, with Leon Osman scoring twice at Craven Cottage.

Everton’s overall record reads:

Where will Everton be in the table by 6pm on Sunday afternoon? 🥲

The Blues could finish as low as 14th… 😫

And unfortunately, Everton’s recent record playing away against Spurs isn’t good either.

The Toffees have won just one of their last 16 against them, and have lost the last four by an aggregate scoreline of 13-1.

One can only hope that the Everton players will embrace the big occasion today.

European football may no longer be on the cards, but there is still a top 10 finish to be pushed for and also the chance to be the club that plays a part of Spurs’ relegation, which would be a simply huge story.
