Reaction
Everton made a good start to last season and the opening fixtures this time around allow for something similar.
That should help the new manager get his feet under the table.
November looks tricky and it’s a hard run-in for Everton to navigate if they’re still chasing the European spots by then.
The festive period looks relatively kind as well, and this feels like it could have been worse, especially given the current uncertainty around who will be in the dugout when the campaign kicks off.
Some fans will be drawn to the derbies in November and April, by which time stadiums will hopefully be full.
