Everton have made rapid progress under David Moyes.

When David Moyes replaced Sean Dyche in January 2025, the focus was very much on keeping Everton in the Premier League.

Moyes steered the Toffees well clear of relegation in the end, and now this season, they’re challenging for Europe.

Surely everyone is Moyes in now? 🤔

David Moyes.

In fact, after Everton’s 3-0 win against Chelsea, they’re only three points behind Merseyside rivals Liverpool, who occupy a Champions League spot.

With that said, we’ve decided to look at their position in the Premier League this time last year compared to now.

Everton’s progress under David Moyes is incredible

After 31 games last season, Everton were languishing in the bottom half of the table in 15th place.

Moyes had nearly completed his mission of retaining the club’s Premier League status after Dyche’s horrific start.

The Merseysiders are 11 points better off and have a really good chance of qualifying for Europe for the first time since 2017.

They’d only won seven games at this stage last term, and now they’ve almost doubled that tally with 13 victories.

After the international break, they face Brentford in the capital in what will be a six-pointer in the race for Europe.

The first-ever Merseyside derby at the Hill Dickinson Stadium follows that.
