Tyler Dibling hasn’t had the season many expected him to have.
When Everton signed Tyler Dibling from Southampton in a £40m deal, there was a real buzz among supporters.
After all, Dibling was widely considered one of the best young talents in the country at the time, so it was a real coup.
How can Tyler Dibling actually turn things around at Everton? 🤷♂️
It's going to need some turnaround from the youngster 😫
However, the 20-year-old winger has barely had a look-in under David Moyes’ stewardship, and now the Toffees manager has just made some bizarre comments.
Dibling will surely be baffled.

David Moyes urges Tyler Dibling to ‘do better’
Speaking ahead of the Manchester City clash this evening, Moyes has come out and urged Dibling to ‘do better’.
“He’ll have to do better I think,” the Toffees boss stated.
“He’ll have to do better in his work and in his training. We brought in Tyrique (George, from Chelsea) who is of a similar age and as competition as well to make sure we were covered.
How would you feel about Romelu Lukaku returning to Everton? 🫣
Does he still have it in him? 😬
“I think Tyrique has done well in the moments he’s had in games and shown some bits that we like, so we want Tyler to step up, we really do.”
Dibling must be pulling his hair out listening to those comments, as Moyes has given him one single minute since January to show what he’s about.
The England under-21 international has started four league games all season; how is that possibly enough game time to show his quality?
Gareth Bale indirectly defended Dibling earlier this year, as he suggested you can’t be expected to improve without game time.
“You can’t change playing games,” Bale explained.
“You can train all you want, you can do extra practice… unless you play games, you’re not going to get better.
“Your touch might be a little bit better, but under pressure, you don’t get better unless you play games.”
Perhaps a loan move will be best for Dibling’s development, as at the moment, it just seems Moyes doesn’t fancy him at all.
