Dominic Calvert-Lewin has admitted he was really impressed with James Garner last night.
Taking to Instagram, the striker labelled Garner as ‘excellent’ following his first goal in an Everton shirt.
The 22-year-old joined the Toffees from Manchester United in a £15 million deal last summer, however his career at Goodison Park got off to a very slow start.
Garner didn’t make his Everton debut until a month after he arrived at the club, before he suffered a back injury that kept him out of action for three months.
The midfielder’s return to the senior team shortly after Sean Dyche was appointed manager, with the former Burnley boss bringing Garner in to replace Seamus Coleman at right-back.

Garner impressed out of position as he helped the Toffees avoid relegation, while he has looked even better this time round.
The England youth international has featured heavily out wide this season but started in his natural central position against Aston Villa.
Garner received huge praise from Sean Dyche following the Carabao Cup victory, while Calvert-Lewin also showed him support.
Garner took to Instagram following the match to post a photo of his celebration, with the caption saying: “Happy with my first goal for the club! Hopefully first of many. Into the next round we go.”
Calvert-Lewin quickly responded labelling his teammate as ‘excellent’, while Alex Iwobi also responded saying: “MY GUY!!”
Everton are starting to see the best of James Garner
Garner also received messages of support from his former Manchester United teammate, with Brandon Williams writing: “Swing back not changed. Well done my mate, proud.”

United fans were left very frustrated when the club decided to sell Garner to Everton last summer, with the midfielder recently ending a hugely successful loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
It is a very good sign when a club like Manchester United were disappointed to lose a player and the Toffees are now starting to reap the rewards of their decision to sign him.
At only 22 years old, Garner still has years ahead of him and could prove to be a pivotal player for the club in the future.
