Everton have now seen one of their players confirm he will leave the club this summer.

David Moyes will have some tough decisions to make over the coming days as Everton will bid farewell to some of their out-of-contract players.

Seamus Coleman will be staying at Everton in some capacity after the manager confirmed as much on Friday.

However, some will not be as fortunate and will soon depart Merseyside.

Ashley Young has issued a contract update from Everton following reports of a possible new deal heading his way.

And there has now been a big update from Fabrizio Romano on the future of another Everton player ahead of the summer.

Joao Virginia set to leave Everton as free agent

It had been suggested earlier in the week that Joao Virginia could leave Everton at the end of his contract.

He is just one of the players who the club are looking to move on from over the coming weeks.

On Saturday, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news with Virginia having now agreed to join a new agency.

‘Joao Virginia leaves Everton on a free transfer as the goalkeeper won’t sign new deal at the club,’ he said.

‘He’s ready for new chapter as recently signed with Gestifute as new agency.’

Virginia shared his Everton farewell on social media earlier in the week with the news coming as no surprise this weekend.

What it does mean is the goalkeeper will have an opportunity to say goodbye properly on Sunday at Goodison Park’s Finale.

Everton confirm three departures

Following Romano’s update, Everton made the news official.

But it was not just Virginia who will be departing Merseyside over the coming days as Asmir Begovic and Ashley Young will also leave as free agents.

Perhaps the news on the 39-year-old right-back may surprise some fans with Young actually playing a role under Moyes from the bench.

If anything, this only goes to show the ambition of the Friedkins who are looking to make some big changes ahead of the new campaign.

Angus Kinnear expects a busy summer for Everton and he now has three players he is already needing to replace.
