Everton’s takeover trouble has been the most tiring saga in the club’s recent history, and yet despite all the setbacks 777 Partners continue to suffer, they will not be deterred.

With truly abysmal conditions at some of their other clubs, and serious questions emerging regarding the legitimacy of their finances, it is a wonder why they even want to invest in a club so riddled with their own fiscal struggles.

However, for many this protracted deal is merely a ploy to use the Toffees to get themselves back on top, and yet neither Farhad Moshiri nor the Premier League can see through their facade.

Regardless, we have been given a fresh deadline for the Miami-based firm to adhere to, with the end of the month sure to mark their final chance to assume control.

Should that not happen, inside information from the club has been released regarding a plan to deal with that situation.

It does feel like a future where 777 Partners are no longer involved at Everton is inevitable, with The Esk one person who has consistently attested that they cannot and will not take over.

Well, thus far his various predictions have come to fruition, but his administration threats are fortunately wide of the mark for now.

The greatest worry that the collapse of this takeover saga is where it would leave the club, given that Moshiri clearly does not care anymore, hence why he is accepting loan after loan just to keep the lights on.

Mentally, he checked out a long time ago, and so a potential summer will no owner could prove devastating.

But, the Fan Advisory Board were on hand to alleviate some of the concerns, having penned a letter to the fanbase just last night informing them about the takeover.

One paragraph in particular catches the eye: ‘A share purchase agreement is currently in place, which gives 777 Partners the opportunity to acquire a majority shareholding in the Club and this lasts until 31 May. The Club has confirmed, however, that plans are also in place to progress alternative scenarios, should the acquisition by 777 Partners not complete.’

There is no Everton future where 777 Partners can be in charge

After all they have done, and more importantly, what they have failed to do, there is no future where 777 Partners can be in control at Everton.

As an institution that seems to prey on clubs in severe financial distress, the Toffees mark the perfect target and an opportunity for them to gain entry at the top floor, in the Premier League.

There is no great financial backing behind them, and their motivations behind the project are still so uncertain.

A club the size, stature and historical standing of Everton cannot afford to just be some pawn in one company’s game, which thus far seems to be their method of operation having watched things unfold at Standard Liege.

With half of May left to go, we will patiently await the inevitable outcome of this takeover saga, and welcome its conclusion once and for all.
