777 Partners’ have been under the Premier League microscope ahead of their proposed takeover of Everton.
The end appeared to be honing into view with a decision regarding Premier League approval rumoured to be in the offing before the end of the month.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, the US-based investors could see the saga roll into March.

The Premier League have come under immense criticism for the time taken to vet the US-based investment firm thoroughly.
However, Kieran Maguire believes they are doing it with good reason.
Kieran Maguire: Premier League right to demand 777 information
777 Partners’ previous ventures have raised questions, which could explain why approval has yet to be granted.
That’s the view of Maguire, who shared his latest thoughts on the Price of Football Podcast.
“We’ve seen information come out that within the 777 staple of clubs we have Standard Liege,” he said.
“For the last three months, they’ve paid their wages late. These are red flags upon red flags upon reg flags.”
On the proposed takeover of Everton, he added: “Whilst the Premier League has been given a lot of stick for not giving a definitive answer, they are right to demand from 777 information.”
Are the Premier League doing the right thing?
It’s hard to say who is in the wrong here.
There’s an argument to say the Premier League could have worked faster. However, we aren’t privy to the information they’ve received from Everton’s potential new owners.
777 Partners may not have provided proof of funds or explained why Standard Liege paid wages late.

It’s essential that whoever purchases the club is fit to replace Farhad Moshiri and end the chaos over the past couple of years.
A rushed decision could take Everton out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Let’s hope, for once, the decision-makers at the Premier League show some due diligence. If approval is granted, 777 must be viewed as 100 per cent fit and proper to take the club forward without further issues.
And right now, we are no closer to finding out if that is the case.
