Everton have been forced to sell many key assets over the last few years.

Everton have had issues with Profit and Sustainability rules, so they’ve had to raise funds through player sales most summers.

The Toffees have sold the likes of Amadou Onana and Richarlison for big money, as they commanded a combined £110m.

How do you feel about bringing Richarlison home in the summer? 🇧🇷

He absolutely loves the Blues! 🐦

Another high-profile star was offloaded for big money, and he’s now being linked with a move to Barcelona, quite remarkably.

Everton sold Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United during the 2023 January transfer window.

Newcastle shelled out around £45m to land his signature, which was deemed too expensive by many at the time.

However, Gordon has kicked on in the North East, as he’s registered 67 goal involvements in 152 appearances.

Liverpool have been showing an interest in signing Gordon and Arsenal have also been linked with the former Toffees academy graduate.

Now, according to SPORT journalist Carlos Monfort, Barcelona’s president Deco is holding talks with the Newcastle star’s agent.

The LaLiga giants hold Gordon in very high regard, although the potential transfer is reported to be complex.

Perhaps Barca’s recruitment team were impressed by his performance at the Camp Nou earlier this season, as he started up front for the Magpies.

Gordon netted 10 goals in the Champions League this term; only Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe have scored more.

Even still, it would be very surprising if Hansi Flick signed him.
