Everton picked up their first win at Old Trafford since 2013, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall netting the winner against Manchester United.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jordan Pickford were standout performers for Everton last night, with the former earning most of the plaudits.

Gary Neville was blown away by Jordan Pickford, as he made a sensational save to deny Joshua Zirkzee in the second half.

Neville also praised James Garner and disagreed with the referee’s decision to send off Idrissa Gana Gueye.

But, one former Everton attacker wasn’t impressed by Neville’s commentary at all and even opted to put the game on mute.

Yannick Bolasie said he had to mute Everton vs Man United due to Gary Neville’s commentary

Former Toffees winger Yannick Bolasie, who made 32 appearances for the club, took to X last night to aim a dig at Neville’s commentary.

Whilst he didn’t directly name the former Man United defenders, fans worked out pretty quickly who he was talking about.

“I’m watching this game on mute,” Bolasie posted.

“I respect opinions but not when he’s giggling all over the mic thinking he’s the second coming of Guardiola, allow it…great player but the tactics give it a rest laaaad.”

The post actually got well over a million views with 14,000 likes at the time of writing, so clearly many agreed with Bolasie’s thoughts.

Roberto Martinez was really impressed by Everton

Former Everton manager Roberto Martinez was on Sky Sports last night, and he was so impressed by Moyes’ side.

“Incredible. I think David Moyes deserves it to the full, because it was a challenging night. It was a night that just came to them from the first minute,” Martinez explained.

“Everything had to be right to win. It wasn’t like that initially, they started well, they were really brave, and then they had the adversity of the red card.

“From that point on they had to be very resilient in the second half at times, United had their chances. It’s just what the club deserves and nights like that are very special.

“For me, it’s a defining moment for this season. Everton can look to a different objective now.”

Let’s hope Martinez is correct and this win does propel them with some positive momentum into the festive period and beyond.

Gueye will be absent for three games, so Moyes will have to find an adequate solution in the middle of the park.
