Everton have reached an agreement over personal terms with Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto.
According to Football Transfers, Wilfried Gnonto has accepted Everton’s offer of personal terms. However, the Toffees are still haggling with Leeds United over a fee for the player.
Everton have been chasing a deal for Gnonto all summer. Whilst Leeds were determined to hang on to the 19-year-old, the player himself made it abundantly clear that he had his heart set on a switch to Goodison Park by briefly going ‘on strike’ at Elland Road.
Leeds United will have identified Gnonto as a key player for them this season in their quest for promotion from the Championship, having been relegated out of the Premier League last time out. However, it seems they could be about to accept defeat and cash in with just hours of the transfer window remaining.
Sean Dyche will be delighted if Everton are able to get a deal for Gnonto over the line in time. The Italian attacker’s commitment to joining the Merseyside outfit is a promising start.

Gnonto and Iwobi in Everton spotlight
Gnonto will represent a brilliant signing for Everton if they can secure his services. The 11-cap Italy international is extremely talented, and showed last season that he has what it takes to shine in the Premier League. Dyche will hope that he can bring some of the flair and cutting edge that is currently sorely lacking in his Everton squad.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
The impending departure of Alex Iwobi ought to pave the way for Gnonto, and bankroll his arrival. Everton are now in a race against the deadline day clock. Iwobi is closing in on a £20 million switch to Fulham, where he will reunite with former Everton boss Marco Silva, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Dyche needs to have Iwobi out and Gnonto in by 11pm tonight.
