Ben Foster has expressed huge concern over how Everton can turn things around this season.
Speaking on The Cycling GK YouTube channel, the former goalkeeper made an interesting claim about what could guarantee relegation for the Toffees.
Everton were brought straight back down to earth at the weekend after a brilliant couple of back-to-back wins over Brentford and Aston Villa.
Sean Dyche’s side moved up to 15th in the Premier League table with their 3-1 victory over the Bees, before they put on a stellar display to shock Villa in the carabao Cup days later.
However, the Toffees were unable to keep up their improved form as they hosted Luton Town. The Hatters had never picked up a win in the Premier League, yet found themselves 2-0 up on the half hour mark.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his revival with his third goal in three games, however he was unable to rescue anything for his side as they suffered their seventh defeat in eight games at Goodison Park.
“Everton would have had this one down as a win, but I think Luton probably will have as well,” Foster said.
“What do Everton need to do to change this ethos? Do they need to get relegated and spend a season in the Championship or do they just do it step by step? Because that’s the thing, if they try to change their style of football then they will get relegated, guaranteed.
“This was a six-pointer, if they won it would have taken them around mid-table. If you’re Everton you’re thinking that’s a decent start for us, especially where they came from last season. Luton will be absolutely buzzing with this.”
Can Everton turn it around?
Everton are now back to being level on points with 18th place and their future in the Premier League is still looking very bleak as they prepare for another home clash against Bournemouth, who are also without a win.

The Toffees’ only hope this season seems to be winning away from home, but they would still have to hope for a miracle if that was the only thing going for them in their race to avoid the drop.
Ben Foster is right about the team changing their style of football, though it is actually very hard to see a lot of these players even being able to manage that anyway.
There are clearly some talent stars in the squad, though whether they have the motivation and determination to improve is another question.
