Everton’s latest training session has highlighted a clear trend with some of the younger players at Finch Farm.

Harrison Armstrong and Tyrique George are just two of the players struggling for minutes on Merseyside currently.

David Moyes has used the smallest number of players of any manager in the Premier League this season with Everton.

Everton youngsters stick close amid David Moyes criticism

Just last week, Moyes publicly criticised Armstrong as he clarified that the midfielder had been dropped from the Everton squad.

This is a 19-year-old player he was publicly discussing to the media, but Armstrong is not alone.

Who would you rather see in Monday’s squad to face Man City? 🫣

In recent footage shared on Everton’s YouTube channel, Armstrong and George were both spotted together as the team warmed up ahead of their on-field work.

Everton remain undecided on George’s future, with the Blues holding the option to buy him from Chelsea this summer.

Moyes has not given George the minutes required to prove his worth following his loan move from west London.

The same could be said for a number of Everton’s younger players, with Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou all falling into the same category.

David Moyes must avoid Everton revolt

The public criticism of Armstrong felt incredibly unnecessary from Moyes last week when he spoke to the media.

Whether it was true or not, to call out a 19-year-old academy graduate felt extremely harsh.

Moyes did call Braiden Graham up to senior training on Thursday ahead of the upcoming Manchester City clash.

However, the 63-year-old is growing a reputation among sections of the fanbase for not utilising the exciting prospects at his disposal.

With the youngsters seemingly sticking together in training, Moyes must offer them a glimmer of hope over the summer or risk losing some of Everton’s top talents in the future.
