Everton fans are hoping to see the arrival of a prolific goalscorer this summer.
The 2024/25 season has once again seen the Toffees struggle in the final third.
Beto enjoyed a recent purple patch under David Moyes. But before that under Sean Dyche, and even now, Everton are not scoring enough goals.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could leave Everton this summer when his contract expires.
And Armando Broja may well head back to Chelsea after his loan spell, having failed to make an impact so far, with no thanks to his injury problems.
So Everton will likely be in the market for a new man up top. Duncan Ferguson believes signing a top striker could help Everton challenge for Europe, and few would disagree that a new number nine is needed.
And one player Everton were linked with on Monday was Liam Delap.
Delap has impressed with Ipswich Town this season, scoring 12 goals in the Premier League.
But it looks highly likely now that the Tractor Boys will be relegated – and in the event of that, Delap will be available for £40 million via a clause.
Everton fans have their say on Liam Delap transfer rumour

Delap has definitely caught the eye this season in a team that has struggled.
Ultimately Ipswich will come up short in their bid to stay up, but Delap can hold his head high, and it’s little wonder a number of clubs are now looking at him ahead of the summer.
Everton are thought to be keen – and fans have now had their say on the prospect of the club signing the 22-year-old.
While it would be a lot of money to pay, plenty would be keen to see Delap gracing Bramley-Moore Dock next season.
Delap could thrive at Everton
Delap will have a very high price this summer, but he could really be a great signing for Everton.
Delap has shown he can still score goals at Premier League level in a struggling team, and he just has a play style that would likely endear him to Evertonians very quickly.
He puts himself about and has a turn of pace. Everton have had battering rams in the past such as Ferguson, Romelu Lukaku, and Delap may thrive as a Toffees player.
A move feels a bit unlikely this summer, given the cost of the player and the fact that other clubs are sniffing around.
But perhaps Moyes will feel he is the answer.
