Everton are absolutely flying at the moment after beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

That’s now four wins in Everton’s last five games, which has moved them up into fifth place and within a point of the top four.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall stole the headlines with yet another superb performance playing a bit deeper than usual.

Thierno Barry also earned lots of praise after scoring his first goal for the club, and he thanked Toffees supporters after the game for their continued support.

Will Barry really kick on now?

Sean Dyche was also a talking point from yesterday’s game, as he returned to Everton for the first time since being sacked in January.

There was a lot of debate about what kind of reception Dyche was going to get from Everton supporters yesterday.

A video has now emerged from when Dyche first arrived at the Hill Dickinson, and Toffees fans were heard cheering him.

Does Dyche deserve to be applauded?

It looked as though that reception caught Dyche off guard a little bit, but he responded with a smile and a thumbs-up.

So clearly, a lot of Evertonians do respect the job Dyche did, especially in the 2023/24 season when he kept the club up with ease despite a points deduction.

Sean Dyche said Everton looked like a top side

Speaking post-match, Dyche wasn’t happy with some decisions that went against his Nottingham Forest side.

The Forest boss said James Tarkowski should’ve been punished after barging Dan Ndoye, but the referee gave nothing.

Mark Clattenburg has his say – Is Sean Dyche being serious? 🤣

“James Tarkowski deliberately barged Dan Ndoye in the back off the ball after an altercation with the pair seconds before.

“It’s a stupid thing to do especially when VAR would look at everything off the ball.

“However, I do not believe it reaches the criteria of a red card as there is no excessive force used as well as malice and force. It’s merely a barge in the back which should have resulted in a yellow card.”

The 54-year-old did, however, admit that the Toffees looked like a really top side under his successor David Moyes.

“But they looked like a team that’s going fifth in the Premier League. Today we were miles off.”

Everton return to action next Saturday as they take on fourth-placed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, knowing a win would take them above Enzo Maresca’s side.
