Everton are exploring a deal to sign Manchester City defender Nathan Ake.

David Moyes is desperate for further reinforcements before the transfer window slams shut in just 11 days time.

Overnight, El Bobble reported that Everton are showing an interest in Ake, who plies his trade as a left-back and centre-back.

Supporters have swarmed to social media to react to the transfer link and many of them are saying similar things.

Everton fans react to Nathan Ake interest

Everton fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their opinions on the potential signing of Ake.

“This would genuinely be an unreal signing – how are people turning their nose up at him? Even if we decided to throw him left back he’s an improvement, even if we throw him in midfield he’s an improvement. Get it done Everton,” @ajd98_ posted.

“Outstanding player but a very strange signing. We are screaming out for right sided players,” @Matt_8888_ commented.

@Livooo said: “Good player. Well schooled. Left footed. We know he can play CB & LB. Wonder if Moyes thinks he could also do a job as DCM too? Technically & physically good enough (has he ever played there for Citeh)?”

“Really good signing if he can stay fit. Strange tho considering the state of the right-hand side. Maybe Branthwaites injury is a long term one,” @rmcq_1878 explained.

Nathan Ake’s versatility would be valuable for Everton

Ake, who has clocked up just shy of 150 appearances for Manchester City, is an extremely versatile player.

The Netherlands international can play as a centre-back, left-back and as a defensive midfielder.

That gives Moyes cover across multiple positions, which makes the signing a sensible one, although, there is still a pressing need to address the right-hand side of the team.
