Everton are really struggling in the Premier League this season and there’s a genuine fear of relegation.

Sean Dyche’s side suffered a 4-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday as they failed to score for the fourth time in a row.

That leaves Everton in 15th place, just two points above 18th-placed Wolves, heading into an incredibly tough run of games.

So the return of the FA Cup in January will certainly be a welcome one, as often a cup run can have a positive influence on a side’s league form.

Everton were drawn against Peterborough United in Monday’s draw and now the League One outfit have released footage of how their players reacted.

One is desperate to score because of his Liverpool ties.

Peterborough United players react to Everton FA Cup draw

Lower-league sides are often keen to draw a Premier League club in the cup and Peterborough United players evidently share that sentiment.

The club’s official X account posted clips of some of their players reacting to the draw and their jet-heeled forward Ricky-Jade Jones admitted that he really wants to score in the tie because he’s a Liverpool supporter.

Posh duo Abraham Odoh and Emmanuel Fernandez were also pleased and noted that Goodison Park is a good stadium to play at.

Ashley Young could create history with his son

The Peterborough clash could also see Ashley Young play against his 18-year-old son Tyler.

Young took to X last night and shared that it could be a ‘goosebumps moment’ for him.

However, Posh expert John Verrall told Everton News that Tyler Young is unlikely to play.

“Tyler Young joined Peterborough largely to play with the under-21’s after impressing in pre-season,” Verrall noted.

“His first-team opportunities have been limited so far but he looked relatively energetic during his brief cameo on debut and has generally impressed the coaching staff.

“The hope is that he could develop into a future first-team player but his chances of playing in the FA Cup tie appear slim, with at least five of Posh’s central midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order.”

So, perhaps the fairytale story won’t happen, after all.
