Paul Merson has now shared his prediction for Saturday’s fixture at Selhurst Park as Everton take on Crystal Palace.

Sean Dyche’s side travel to the capital in desperate need of points against a resurgent Palace side who have now won three on the bounce since the reappointment of manager Roy Hodgson.

Indeed, it will be a tough fixture for the Toffees, a sentiment echoed by Paul Merson, who predicts a 2-0 win for Crystal Palace.

Writing in his Sportskeeda column, Merson said: “Everton’s fixtures are terrible now, and their match against Fulham was a must-win game. I thought they’d stay up on their home form, but last week’s result was poor. I can see Everton struggling to score goals this weekend.

Crystal Palace are a proper mid-table team. They’ll give the top teams a game but won’t those matches, and they’ll defeat the teams below them.

I expected them to win the three games they’ve won this month, and I think they’ll win this match as well.”

Merson is right, Everton face real uncertainty with upcoming fixtures

With just seven games remaining, Everton must start picking up points as Sean Dyche’s side sit precariously in 17th place with only goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone.

Everton have only managed to record one win away from home all season in a 2-1 victory at Southampton last October, with form on the road an ongoing problem for the Blues.

Sean Dyche will no doubt be hopeful that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be available having not been in the match day squad for 10 consecutive games now, though the striker’s recent social media posts suggest he could be fit for Saturday.

It will be a tough game, but after a disappointing defeat at home to Fulham last week, there is now even greater significance on the weekend’s trip to Selhurst Park.
