Ian Wright has admitted he is pleased for Everton and heaped praise onto the side after the miraculous recovery in the past few weeks.
Ian Wright has been full of praise for Everton after their weekend win over Chelsea which saw Sean Dyche‘s side take a real step away from the relegation spots.
Everton made it three consecutive wins ahead of another winnable game this weekend against Burnley.
A win against Burnley could leave the blues just three points adrift from the likes of Chelsea and Wolves depending on results elsewhere.
Due to this recent rise following the points deduction, Wright was delighted with Everton as he heaped praise onto them.
Ian Wright praises The Toffees
Speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast on Tuesday, Everton were the recipient of some heavy praise.
“Can I just say as well, Everton… Everton, it’s a beautiful thing to see, it’s a beautiful thing to see because they’ve taken it all on board,” Wright began.
He then continued, “And let’s face it, if they didn’t get the 10 points, they were playing a kind of football where they would’ve been okay anyway, they dropped in [to the relegation zone] so you just keep playing the football you were playing, it’s no different, you just keep playing it.
“I am just pleased that they didn’t get bogged down with the ‘ahh the 10 points, oh it’s not fair’, they used it.”
Wright then wrapped up his delightful verdict as he reaffirmed that he is so happy for The Toffees amid their resurgence this season.
“I am really pleased for Everton because you do feel that something along the line doesn’t feel fair about what’s happened to them so I’m quite pleased that they’ve found the energy and the gusto and goodwill to just get on with it.”
Everton so so impressive, can they keep it up?
This Saturday evening, Dyche’s side would be favourites to continue their excellent run as they head to Turf Moor to face Everton.
Following this, Dyche has the opportunity to take his Toffees side into the Carabao Cup semi-final, with a quarter-final date set against Fulham at Goodison Park on Tuesday.
The blues then face Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City back-to-back before facing Wolves on the penultimate day of 2023.
