Everton have enjoyed a hectic start to the summer, navigating PSR pitfalls whilst also seeking to bolster a squad in dire need of some added depth.
And whilst Kevin Thelwell has sought to downplay expectations from the fanbase, he has instead made fools out of Evertonians for lulling them into such a negative viewpoint.
After all, this transfer window has been nothing but positive thus far, selling unneeded assets where necessary, and strengthening in key areas.
Now, after waiting for what has felt like an eternity, a new signing has just been confirmed too.
Everton confirm signing of Iliman Ndiaye
The new man could only be Iliman Ndiaye, who had completed his medical over a week ago now.
Brought in for a modest £15m sum, he is the marquee acquisition thus far in the window, as a keen attacking talent sure to add some much-needed firepower to Sean Dyche’s side.

Having left Sheffield United for Marseille just last year, fresh from dominating the Championship, he sought greener pastures in France.
However, when that didn’t work out, a certain Everton player got to work on convincing him that Goodison Park would be perfect for his next venture.
Journalist Lewis Steele even claims: ‘Everton have made their third summer signing with the arrival of talented Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille. Senegal international joins on a five-year deal for just over £15m. Compatriot Idrissa Gana Gueye was key to persuading him to join.’
Idrissa Gana Gueye helping on and off the pitch
Whilst he is a tenacious midfield enforcer and a relentless presser whilst on the pitch, having become an integral cog in Dyche’s system late on in the season, it has since become clear that Gueye offers far more to the club than just his work rate.
In fact, this latest claim should come as no surprise, as it is commonplace for compatriots to convince one another to join them.
Especially if they have enjoyed their time at whichever club they may be at, as the 34-year-old clearly has.
Having first joined the club in 2016 from a relegated Aston Villa, this shrewd acquisition marked an unexciting signing at first.
However, he quickly grew into the Toffees’ most important player, and he had more than earned his £30m dream move to Paris Saint-Germain.

But, his love for Everton was too strong, and he would be back again just three years later, ready to save the club from the drop.
He is a modern-day Everton hero for his commitment to the club despite its struggles. Should Ndiaye now prove to be a hit, he can add that to his list of successes too.
