It has not taken long for Everton fans to crown Iliman Ndiaye as their latest hero.

After all, the Senegal international has everything that Goodison Park craves, wrapped up into a neat little 5 foot 11 package.

He is quick and skilful, and always wants to beat his man, yet boasts the work rate and intelligence to seldom lose possession in dangerous areas, and to always chase back if he does relinquish the ball.

However, it’s alarming how little that actually happens.

With someone becoming so revered so quickly, it was never going to take long for the Toffees to come up with a suitable chant for the 24-year-old.

And already Iliman Ndiaye has reacted to it.

A song first sung and released on X by Ryan Rooney, it did not take long for Evertonians to pick this tune up and take it to the concourse.

Sung on buses down to Ipswich and in the ground at half-time, they confessed their love for their number ten, Ndiaye.

And now, the wife of the silky star has actually taken to Instagram to provide a video of the fan favourite actually singing along to the chant.

It feels like at last, having sought out a Richarlison replacement, the Everton faithful finally have someone they can love like their own once again.

Iliman Ndiaye is already an Everton favourite

Signed for a mere £17m, it’s a testament to the quality of Ndiaye that Evertonians already love him as much as they do.

And, having now added two Premier League goals to his name as well, he blends unbridled skill and technical control with a tangible attacking threat.

Times have been tough at Everton, and as such new songs have been in short supply.

Even new ones that are made seldom last, with a poor run of form seemingly always just around the corner.

Well, it seems there is a new Rooney on Merseyside, and instead of scoring goals for fun, it seems he will instead be the new fan-appointed songwriter to usher in a brighter era for the Toffees.

He already has Ndiaye’s seal of approval.
