Everton midfielder Amadou Onana has posted a thank you message to the club’s fans on social media, but one cryptic hashtag has some people wondering about his future.
The 21-year-old Belgian has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer, and on his most recent Instagram post, the Everton midfielder included the hashtag ‘I’m out’.
Of course, it could merely be the footballing equivalent of putting your out of office on and going on holiday, or it could be a clue that his future lies away from Merseyside.
Posting on his Instagram account, Onana said: “Whatever it took, it was worth it…
Staying in the Premier League should be normal for a club this size. I want to thank you all because it’s been a very difficult season for us.
Despite that we all stuck together and you kept pushing us. If at the end we made it, it’s because of your massive support throughout the season, at home but also away.
So therefore, Toffees Army, thank you. #AO8#Jobsfinished#Utft#imout”

Onana Instagram post could support recent rumours of a move away from Everton
The cryptic nature of the final hashtag in Onana’s post has many Everton fans wondering if this means goodbye to a player who only arrived at Goodison Park last summer.
Indeed, Onana joined the Blues in a £33m deal from French side Lille last August but has been heavily linked with a move elsewhere in recent weeks.
The Belgian international had a solid debut season in the Premier League and at just 21-years-old has bags of potential.

However, some performances throughout the campaign were underwhelming and the young midfielder would need to add consistency to his game to fulfil his potential.
Whether or not he will be continuing his development at Goodison Park next season or not remains to be seen.
