Everton are finally closing in on their takeover at last, with Dan Friedkin having taken a huge and much-needed step towards the completion of this deal.
It has been a long time coming for fans of the club, who have been put through the emotional wringer for half a decade now.
Farhad Moshiri has been at the centre of such heartache, naturally, as the chief architect of misery both on and off the field.
He tried his best, but his misguided efforts have unfortunately regressed the club.
Dan Friedkin promises to right those wrongs, but Moshiri still deserves praise for holding out for the right buyer.
Farhad Moshiri eases Everton takeover process
After all, there remains so many risks associated with John Textor, the main rival for Friedkin throughout the past few months.
Meanwhile, the AS Roma owner offers security already exhibited in Italy, wiping them clear of their debts whilst progressing them towards winning a first European trophy in many decades.

It has been over 12 months now since 777 Partners first kickstarted this progress, but now there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
And, despite his misdeeds, Moshiri played a huge role in this, as iNews writes: ‘One insider suggested that Moshiri, who has been keen to sell his stake for more than a year, might have agreed to a lower price to help smooth the path for a deal.’
Dan Friedkin could finally change things at Everton
It’s been really tough for Evertonians to stick by the club when so many still hold onto the club’s motto: Nil Satis Nice Optimum. Only the best is enough.
For a large portion of the fanbase, this has been something they have stuck to religiously, and so the failures have felt that much tougher.
However, many of the newer generation, who have become unfortunately accustomed to such mediocrity, almost expect the worst.
At last, Friedkin could change the mindset of the latter to align with the former, one step at a time.
It will not be a revolutionary overhaul, but the changes made will be noticeable and hopefully fast enough.

The American has exhibited his cutthroat nature in Rome already, and should he bring that, plus a few smarter business decisions to Everton, they could be in for a successful turnaround.
