It’s obvious which Everton star will sign a new deal after James Garner, talks are already underway

Everton are confident James Garner will agree a new contract as talks continue over a long-term deal.

El Bobble have reported that no agreement has been reached thus far, but the expectation is that James Garner will be staying on Merseyside long beyond his current deal, which actually expires next summer.

David Moyes has been blown away by Garner’s performances this season and reckons he should be considered for an England call-up.

So clearly, the Scotsman is desperate to avoid losing the former Manchester United midfielder on a free transfer.

There are a few other Everton players who are also out of contract in 2026, and it’s obvious who the next first-teamer will be to get a new deal.

Vitali Mykolenko expected to be next Everton star to sign a new deal

Once Everton get Garner’s new deal over the line, Vitali Mykolenko will likely be the next player in line to pen a renewal.

Everton News were exclusively told that the Toffees have been in talks with Mykolenko since the summer.

Mykolenko is keen to stay on Merseyside and evidently Moyes shares the same sentiment, as the 26-year-old has been a key fixture all season.

The Ukraine international has played 90 minutes in 10 consecutive Premier League games and has been keeping summer signing Adam Aznou out of the side.

Although, there is some uncertainty around whether he will continue to be first-choice in the second half of the season, based on a recent transfer link.

Everton are considering signing Antonee Robinson

Everton are reportedly exploring a deal to re-sign Antonee Robinson from Fulham this January transfer window.

He’d be an upgrade on Mykolenko…

The attacking left-back is understood to be available for around £25m, although the Toffees could probably negotiate that asking price down.

If Moyes were to bring Robinson in, surely Mykolenko would immediately become the second-choice left-back.

So, for that reason, there is a chance the Ukrainian waits to commit his future until the January window has been and gone.

Or, Mykolenko may be content with any outcome and just wants to remain on Merseyside with his family as Everton continue to rise and challenge for Europe.
