Nathan Patterson has revealed his impressive body transformation since joining Everton.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the Scotland international has claimed he has put on 5kg since he arrived at Goodison Park and is eager to keep himself ‘as fit as possible’ after a tough start at the club.
Patterson left Rangers to join Everton in January 2022 and has since struggled to kickstart his career in the Premier League due to injury problems.
The defender has already been sidelined for over three months in total and has been limited to 21 appearances in all competitions since completing his move to Merseyside.

However, Patterson is eager for a fresh start this season and has been working very hard on his body to be in the best shape possible ahead of Everton’s opener against Fulham next month.
“When I was at Rangers, I hardly ever had injuries so it was kind of a new thing for me,” Patterson told the ECHO.

“When you’re trying so hard to push back, your body has a lot of trauma so I’ll be working on my body this year, making sure I’m keeping myself as fit as possible.
“I’ve worked hard since I’ve been here, I went from 75kg to 80kg and I’m sitting there every day comfortably so I think that’s the weight I’m at now. My body is more used to it so I’ll just be keeping on top of it and making sure I’m feeling great for each game.”
Will Nathan Patterson have a starring role at Everton next season?
Nathan Patterson’s chances under Sean Dyche will depend on whether he can stay fit and put on some impressive performances in the opening weeks, though this is likely to be his best opportunity to make his mark.
The 21-year-old will be working very hard to catch Dyche’s eye during pre-season training and will be hopeful of taking advantage of Seamus Coleman’s long-term injury ahead of the Fulham clash.

The Everton captain may not be thrust straight back into the starting line-up after being sidelined since May, while Patterson may be the most likely replacement.
James Garner previously claimed the right-back spot due to injury problems and was extremely impressive in the latter stages of the campaign, however it is likely we could see him return to his natural position in midfield.
