Everton fans will soon be seeing Jack Grealish gracing the Hill Dickinson Stadium pitch.

Everton had been in talks with Manchester City over a potential loan move for Grealish, who is widely expected to move on this summer after a lack of game time.

Jack Grealish’s opportunities at City have become limited in recent times, and with a World Cup taking place next year, it is important that he is playing regularly.

Everton are currently thought to be in pole position for Grealish.

The big thing was to reach an agreement on is the payment of Grealish’s wages, with the 29-year-old being one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.

But Everton have now reached an agreement to sign Grealish on loan, with a medical set to take place later today.

It is undoubtedly be one of the most eye-catching moves of the summer – and Tony Cascarino reckons it is brilliant for the player.

What’s happened with Grealish in recent times has been a shame to see.

At Aston Villa, he was one of the most exciting players to watch in the Premier League.

But at City, he has seemingly been stripped of freedom, and has not really played with that maverick style he did at Villa Park.

He has to leave, and Everton are now set to sign him.

And in the eyes of Tony Cascarino, there are two key reasons Everton are the ideal club to help Grealish get back on track – those being the stadium, which could help him restore his drive, and the proven record of Moyes helping players turn things around.

He told talkSPORT: “He has no option, he has to go and play and play football.

“It was initially Tottenham which is a great stadium and would really lift him and give him a new drive. I think Everton would do the same with their new stadium.

“If you look at Thomas Frank and David Moyes, they’re managers who get more out of players and turn their careers around and if it was a viable option I think it would be a great move to go to Everton.

“David Moyes admitted himself he didn’t want another relegation battle and the [Kiernan] Dewsbury-Hall signing is another one of intent of signing another exciting player who’s technically superb.

“If David Moyes has got this new idea I would see it as a golden opportunity, it’s a great club.”

Everton and Grealish could be a match made in heaven

There is little doubt that Grealish needed to change clubs this summer.

And it looks like we will be seeing him in an Everton shirt next, and this really could be a match made in heaven.

Grealish could well be raring to go in 2025/26, having fallen by the wayside at City in recent times.

One gets the sense that he needs an arm around the shoulder and to feel loved again, and he can get that at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with Moyes and the Evertonians.

Despite his struggles in recent times he is still a huge name, and his signing could genuinely give this squad a real lift.
