Everton fans will be hoping that Jack Grealish can make his debut against Leeds United for the Premier League opener.

After his loan from Man City, Grealish has plenty to show in an Everton shirt.

He’s arrived at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with the ambition to prove people wrong and rekindle the flame he’s been missing in his career.

The 29-year-old is set to be a leading character under David Moyes, with Grealish set to play in the number ten.

But when he was in Manchester, he was predominantly a left-winger, and Moyes might have a change of mind after his last performance at Elland Road against Leeds.

Everton’s Jack Grealish grabbed two assists for Man City the last time he played at Elland Road

With the winger in line to make his first appearance in front of the Evertonians, his last encounter with the West Yorkshire side was a good one.

Playing on that left side in Pep Guardiola’s City side, the winger grabbed two assists, both for Leeds-born Erling Haaland.

Grealish proved to be a menace against Leeds, as he showed unselfishness in the final third for Haaland to score, which is a trait Everton could see next season.

After this performance, it showed signs of the Aston Villa days that many people compare his best performances to.

Pundits have applauded the move, as Paul Merson thinks Grealish will be ‘phenomenal’, but he must stick to his best attribute from this game and continue it for Everton.

Jack Grealish must continue to model his game on winning fouls for Everton

There was one thing that stood out in this game, which the winger has continued to use to his advantage throughout his career, and that’s his ability to win fouls.

Alongside an excellent display, the 29-year-old has a clever knack in continuing to draw in opposition tackles, which could work very well under Moyes, who’s excited by Grealish’s arrival.

In a game which will no doubt have a fiery atmosphere in Leeds, Grealish could see this as an opportunity to get back to his usual tricks.

It’s a big game to start the season, and if the winger continues with performances like this, he will be on the right road to rediscovering his true form.
