Jake O’Brien has endured a frustrating start to life at Everton, and it now looks like he’s sent an indirect message to Sean Dyche on X.
One problem that has been evident this season at Everton is the lack of rotation at centre-back, as Sean Dyche opted for Michael Keane for far too long.
Keane was slammed as a ‘nervous wreck’ vs Bournemouth but still decided to stick by the defender, which infuriated a number of fans.
Jake O’Brien has been unlucky not to receive more than 26 minutes in the Premier League this season after impressing at Lyon.
Only Sean Dyche will know the real reason he’s not using O’Brien at this moment in time.
However, the player himself has taken to Instagram with a rather strangely timed post.

Jake O’Brien sends potential message to Sean Dyche
Newcastle United are set to travel to Merseyside to face Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
James Tarkowski is looking for a new partner for the Newcastle clash, and he’s already shown his excitement with Jake O’Brien joining, as he feels he will be the perfect fit.
The perfect opportunity could now present itself as Jarrad Branthwaite has suffered an injury which looks set to rule him out of this weekend’s clash.
Interestingly, the news was broken by the Liverpool Echo at 6:15pm on Thursday.
Jake O’Brien then posted on X 45 minutes later at 7pm with a three word message stating ‘day by day’, that included photos of him working hard in training.
Sean Dyche has to start O’Brien vs Chelsea
Michael Keane has looked sluggish and slow in appearances for the Toffees so far this season, which is exactly what you don’t want when facing Anthony Gordon.
The former Everton star is set to start at the pinnacle of the attack with Alexander Isak injured.
Jake O’Brien has already shown his pace and strength in the Carabao Cup and will be right up for the challenge of winning the Goodison Park faithful over with a good display against Gordon.
However, Sean Dyche is a known fan of Keane and often leans on his experience, so it’s unlikely that O’Brien will get the nod.
