Everton enjoyed their final day trip up to Newcastle United on Sunday as they added three final points to their tally.

Bright times are ahead of Everton under their new owners who are set to oversee what could be the biggest summer in the club’s history.

David Moyes was brought in with the goal of securing Premier League football for next season, and he kept his end of the deal.

Now it is time for the club to invest with CEO Angus Kinnear expecting a hectic summer window on Merseyside.

Some fans may welcome the summer break, but others will be desperate to get the 2025/26 campaign underway in the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Early predictions will be being made already and one Jamie Carragher heard left him unable to hold back the laughter.

Jamie Carragher stunned by 2025/26 Everton prediction

Alan Shearer hailed Everton’s display against Newcastle on Sunday as the Toffees ended their campaign off in style.

Improvements are going to have to be made, but there will be hope Everton can now push on under the Friedkins.

However, Sky Sports social media presenter Stephen Tries stunned Carragher with his ‘hot take’ for next season.

“Can I get your hot take for next season? You know, like Everton get relegated,” Tries said to Carragher.

“Did you say Everton will get relegated?” Carragher replied in amazement.

“I just don’t know if the Hill Dickinson Stadium has the atmosphere,” Tries responded.

And this reply left the former Liverpool defender in absolute stitches.

Everton fans are entering the new season in high spirits as they were heard singing the loudest in the away end at St James’ Park on Sunday.

The takeover has certainly provided the club with a new lease of life, but the Friedkins still have to make the right calls over the summer to capitalise on their early progress.

Could Everton qualify for Europe in 2025/26

Everton are being backed financially this summer by their new owners and there is a lot of work needing to be done.

And the Blues should be encouraged by some of last season’s strugglers like Nottingham Forest defying the odds to secure Europa Conference League football.

The Friedkins want to make a statement signing with Richarlison one of the names being strongly linked to the Toffees.

Clearly, a lot needs to happen for Everton to think about qualifying for Europe next season.

However, the Toffees should certainly be targeting breaking back into the top half.
