Jamie Carragher has made his prediction ahead of the Carabao Cup tie between Everton and Burnley this week.
Writing for the EFL, the former Liverpool defender has tipped Everton to be ‘too much’ for their visitors.
The Toffees put on a spectacular display last month as they beat Aston Villa in the third round of the Cup, thanks to goals from James Garner and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Sean Dyche‘s side will now be confident of reaching the quarter-finals as they host Burnley on Wednesday evening.
Everton have won four of their last six matches in all competitions and have conceded six goals in the process.
Meanwhile, the Clarets have endured a difficult return to the Premier League so far. Vincent Kompany’s side currently sit 19th in the table after claiming only one win against Luton Town.
Burnley beat Salford City in the Carabao Cup third round, but Jamie Carragher expects their Cup run to end this week.

“I think Everton’s physicality and power will be too much for Burnley,” Carragher said.
“Everton have to go for it because it gives them a great opportunity to break that hoodoo of how long they’ve gone without winning a trophy. It’s a decent home draw and there’s other teams in there who they might think, if they get them in the draw in the next round, it gives them a great opportunity to get to the Semi-Finals.”
Could this be an easy pass for Everton?
Everton are in a really good place right now and they really look like they have turned things around after a horrendous start.
The Toffees’ defence has looked brilliant in recent games and the current form of Calvert-Lewin could well fire them to safety.
It would be a huge surprise to see Everton claim anything other than a victory against Burnley, who have really struggled so far.
It would be a huge boost for Dyche’s side if they could make it into the quarter-finals, especially with the likes of Exeter, Middlesbrough, Mansfield or Port Vale still being in the competition.
