Everton fans were treated to a negative tweet from Jamie Carragher based on a post from the club on Sunday, and it didn’t stop there as he later made a prediction.
Sean Dyche silenced some of his critics on Sunday as his Everton side put in a very respectable performance against Newcastle.
It wasn’t without its controversies, as is most Everton games, as a penalty was wrongly denied in the second half after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was brought down.
This led to the match ending 0-0, which is another point on the board for the Toffees.
One highlight for Everton fans was the missed penalty from Anthony Gordon, which was met with a huge roar at Goodison Park.
Jamie Carragher wasn’t too happy with what Everton later posted about the attacker, as he took to X.

Jamie Carragher takes aim at Everton fans over Anthony Gordon
Everton decided to post a video mocking Anthony Gordon’s penalty save, which didn’t please Carragher.
This sparked a massive outrage on social media, with many Everton fans claiming they had every right to post the video due to how he acted when leaving Goodison Park.
It didn’t stop there though, as Carragher ended up predicting that Everton fans will go on to give Anthony Gordon the same treatment for the next 10 years.
One fan stated if you can’t take the mick out of a former player who refused to train and caused issues, then what can you do.
He responded.
“Of course you can, as you did yesterday! And will do for the next 10yrs at Goodison when he comes back but you don’t expect the official club socials to do it.”
Anthony Gordon’s time at Everton
Anthony Gordon joined the Everton youth academy as a youngster and climbed the ranks.
He joined Newcastle United for around £45 million in January of last year and hasn’t looked back since.
However, the way he acted towards the end of his time at the club wasn’t right. He refused to train at times and didn’t want to play in a game under Frank Lampard.
His return to Goodison Park wasn’t a memorable one anyway. In fact, it was a horrible one, as Gordon is the first former Everton player to have a penalty saved at Goodison since Tom Browell in 1922.
