Everton are still yet to hear back from the Premier League regarding their appeal.
It has officially been three weeks since the independent commission began hearing the Toffees’ defence against November’s ten-point deduction, and yet despite it being so long ago, they are still without a conclusion.
That, or the decision is being hidden from the public for reasons still unbeknownst to the masses.
And with this void being left by their lack of communication, many are filling it with predictions.
Jamie Carragher is one of many to indulge in this practice.
What Jamie Carragher said about Everton’s appeal
The former Liverpool defender has never shied away from voicing his opinion on Everton, whether that be lambasting the ownership or praising their star players.
However, in this situation his notion is far more grave, as he spoke about a decision that could catastrophically alter the long-term future of this football club.

Speaking live on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football before their game with Crystal Palace, Carragher noted: ‘I would expect some points to come back, I would because I think the initial reaction to everyone in football when they saw the 10 points deduction was woah, that feels harsh.
‘Everton have admitted a breach so there is going to be some sort of sanction. What should it be? It’s never happened before so there is a grey area there. I think that basically killed the January transfer window.
‘Because I think that scared a lot of clubs into thinking we can’t afford to get close to the line.’
Any points back could be crucial for Everton
Having dragged themselves out of the relegation zone on Monday, albeit gained from a torrid home performance against Crystal Palace, it does, at last, afford the club a tiny shred of daylight in the midst of what has been a horrid season thus far.
And, the funny thing is, Everton have not even been that bad.
Were it not for their ten-point deduction, they would currently sit 12th in the Premier League, way clear of 18th-placed Luton Town, and looking down on those wallowing near the bottom three rather than up at those above it.
However, as things stand they are only safe on points difference, which is what would make any kind of remuneration so pivotal.

Theoretically, were they to see the sanction halved and five points reinstated, the Toffees would fly up three places in the table, leapfrogging Nottingham Forest, Brentford and the Eagles.
That distinction between themselves and those dreaded bottom three places would be huge not only for their chances of safety, but also for alleviating the pressure on both players and fans that even saw James Garner criticise the latter.
Here’s hoping an outcome is soon and positive.
