The final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park is almost upon on.
Everton take on fierce rivals Liverpool on Wednesday night in what’s promised to be a vociferous atmosphere.
David Moyes’ side have the chance to not just put themselves well clear of relegation danger, but also to jeopardise Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes.
Victory for the hosts would see them move 12 points clear of 18th-placed Leicester City, so it’d essentially secure their top-flight status.

Ahead of the crunch clash, Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite has been speaking to the club’s media and has issued a rallying cry to his teammates.

Jarrad Branthwaite urges his Everton teammates to be ‘on it’ in training this week
Speaking to EvertonTV, Branthwaite has urged his teammates to be ‘on it’ in training today and tomorrow ahead of Wednesday’s Merseyside derby at Goodison.
“I think everyone’s looking forward to it,” the Everton defender said.
“It’ll be a big atmosphere and a big game and, for me, it’s just it’s a game everyone wants to play in. But it’s just another game and we’ve got to be focused for it.
“Through Monday and Tuesday now, we’ve got to be ready, we’ve got to be on it and then you know take it on Wednesday. We know we can beat them, we know what happened last season.
“We take confidence from that and take confidence from the previous results that we’ve had in the last three or four games and go into it with momentum.”
Everton currently hold the bragging rights
Everton currently hold the bragging rights over their rivals having defeated Jurgen Klopp’s side 2-0 at Goodison towards the back end of last season.
Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were the goalscorers and ironically, it all but ended Liverpool’s title hopes.
They’ll be hoping to put a dent in their title charge this time around, with the Reds currently six points clear at the summit.
