Jarrod Bowen is no longer a Premier League player and after West Ham United’s relegation he gave a very interesting update, amid links to Everton.
The 2025/26 season is officially over, and Everton finished 13th.
It is a hugely disappointing outcome, after the Toffees had spent so many weeks in eighth and knocking on the door for European football.
Would you rather Everton sign Summerville or Bowen this summer? 👀
Whichever way David Moyes and the hierarchy try to spin it, Everton have missed a major opportunity.
This will now be a huge summer for Everton, because expectations will be far higher for 2026/27.
Jarrod Bowen is someone Everton have been credited with an interest in, and in theory he should now be easier to sign after West Ham got relegated.
But his words yesterday suggest it may not be a foregone conclusion.
Jarrod Bowen hints he could stay at West Ham despite relegation

Bowen is quite clearly a Premier League-level player.
The 29-year-old has scored 85 goals and made 63 assists for the Hammers since he joined them, and has so often been their talisman.
His future will now become the subject of fierce speculation, and Everton have been mentioned as being in the mix.
But surprisingly, Bowen failed to rule out actually staying at West Ham when he spoke after their relegation yesterday.
He said (via Evening Standard): “I’m under contract here. I’ve been here six and a half years. I’ve had some really high moments and this is a low moment that will outweigh everything.
“There’s going to be rumours, there’s going to be talk. Ultimately, what I see is getting this club back in the Premier League because that is where it deserves to be.
“This is a really, really low moment, but we have to bounce back because there’s no other way. This is a really difficult moment.
“You never know what the future holds. For me, I want to get this club back in the Premier League. Right now our vision is to do that.”
The comments come after Bowen wouldn’t really be drawn on his future leading up to the final round of Premier League fixtures.
Bowen would be an amazing signing for Everton
So it seems it could take a fair bit of work to prise Bowen away from West Ham despite relegation.
It was very interesting to hear him make those remarks, and perhaps he genuinely does want to stay and help the club get back into the Premier League. That said, surely him leaving is still more likely than him staying.
There will still be clubs coming in for him, and Everton need to be one of them.
The Toffees didn’t score enough goals in 2025/26 and Bowen is a huge threat, both out wide and through the middle.
