Everton’s takeover has rumbled on for just shy of 12 months now, kickstarted by 777 Partners, and hopefully soon to be finished off by John Textor.
As the Miami-based group trundled through their efforts to acquire the Toffees, falling at every hurdle placed in front of them, confidence waned from fans, pundits and those inside the club.
It never really felt like they would succeed, yet Farhad Moshiri blindly persisted with them.
That was, until things became too far gone, and Dan Friedkin was the next to swoop in.
However, his exclusivity agreement, which eventually saw him opt out of the deal, was prefaced by John Textor‘s claims about wanting to take over at Everton as well.
Now, he could get his wish.
John Textor hands Everton huge transfer boost
Having since entered into an exclusivity agreement of his own, the American is working hard to stump up the necessary funds to buy Everton whilst also aligning with the Premier League’s rules on ownership.
Textor cannot own a stake in two sides competing in the same division, and thus must offload his Crystal Palace shares.

In seeking to do that, he will be swapping one English side for another, set to headline his already impressive portfolio of football clubs across the world.
It already seems like he has used one of his other sides to hand Everton a fresh transfer boost this summer too, with the news emerging that Everton were closing in on signing Orel Mangala from Lyon.
Textor became the owner of the French side in 2022, as well as Brazilian outfit Botafogo.
This transfer aid could be the first helping hand he offers to try and propel Sean Dyche’s side in a similar direction.
Orel Mangala is close to completing his Everton move
Not only is a deal for Mangala effectively confirmed with Lyon, but the player is actually supposed to be en route to Merseyside to complete his medical today.
It marks another really important addition late on in the market, finally ending the club’s dry spell in the market to provide some much-needed depth to their engine room.
Having impressed on loan with Lyon last season, earning himself a permanent move from Nottingham Forest, the Belgian even starred over the summer for his national side at the EURO’s, despite his side’s underperformance.

A man of real pedigree, with energy and efficiency in his passing that the Toffees often lack, Everton may already have Textor to thank for this one before he has even completed his takeover.
