Everton head to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, looking to end their ten-game run without a Premier League win.

Sean Dyche’s side are currently 16th in the table after a damaging home defeat to West Ham United last time out.

The Toffees were left to rue several missed chances as stoppage-time goals from Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez saw David Moyes’ side head south with all three points.

Manchester United are up next for Dyche’s men, and Jordan Pickford has cast his thoughts ahead of the trip to Old Trafford.

Jordan Pickford: Everton can exploit Manchester United weakness

Talking live on talkSPORT on Tuesday, 6 March, Pickford said: “For me, the intensity and work rate and running stats the lads get out, we will be able to get at them and running stats, we will be able to get at them and run all over them.”

The 29-year-old highlighted Manchester United’s injury issues ahead of Saturday’s crucial fixture.

“They also have a few injuries as well, but you never know,” he added

“The manager and the staff set out a plan, and we do our best to get results.”

Everton must find cutting edge

Talking after Everton’s 3-1 loss to West Ham, Dyche was clear in his message regarding his side’s wasted opportunities.

It must be rectified heading into the season’s latter stages with the relegation zone firmly within sight.

“We need more of that. We’ve got players here with real talent,” he Dyche Everton’s official website.

“I’ve already described it – if you want to score a goal from open play, you’ve never had more freedom. So let’s just go and professionally relax and have the freedom to score. That’s what’s got to change here – the psychology of it.”

He added: “We do feel like we’re structuring the team well, and the performances are good – we have a collective responsibility to win games, and that is by scoring goals. You can’t win if you’re not scoring goals.”

Dyche is right; the likes of Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin must start playing with more freedom in front of goal.

Hopefully, Beto’s opening goal on Saturday can be a springboard for the rest of the season. Yes, it was a simple chance set up brilliantly by James Garner, but it still needed finishing.

Persisting with the Portuguese striker at Old Trafford could be a smart move.
