Jordan Pickford is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
Since completing a £30m switch from Sunderland, Jordan Pickford has established himself as England’s number one at Everton.
The Toffees shot-stopper has been a perennial point saver over the years and particularly earned his stripes during the relegation fights.
Such form has seen Pickford amass a whopping 73 caps for the Three Lions and he is once again expected to be the number one under the new regime with Thomas Tuchel.
Ahead of England’s World Cup qualifier against Albania on Friday evening, it’s recently surfaced that Pickford wasn’t actually due to be his real name.

What is Jordan Pickford’s real name?
Lee Pickford is the father of Jordan, but growing up, that wasn’t his name.
According to the Mirror, Lee’s real surname is Pigford, however, he decided to get it changed to Pickford by deed poll because he was cruelly bullied at school.
Lee was nicknamed ‘piggy’ and he didn’t want his son to get the same treatment as him, so that’s when the surname Pickford was introduced.
So, all Jordan’s ever been known as is Pickford.
Pickford’s Grandad still carries the surname Pigford
Jordan’s Grandad Barrie still carries the name Pigford and speaking in 2018, he heaped praise on his Grandson.
“I’m over the moon for him, I am,” Pigford told MailOnline. “I never thought he would play for England. It is the best thing he did leaving Sunderland – going to Everton was a good thing for him. He’s doing good, I’m pleased for him. He’s six foot four, so he’s a big lad, but he’s quiet.
“He doesn’t brag or nothing. When he comes home he is the same as normal. He’s a quiet kid really. I think the world of him.”
Pickford, now aged 31, could reach 100 caps for his country and perhaps Peter Shilton’s 125 appearance record could be broken before he hangs up his gloves.
