Beto is scheduled to undergo his medical at Everton this weekend.

That’s according to journalist Sebastiao Sousa Pinto, who has reported that striker is nearing a move from Udinese after the two clubs agreed a fee of around €30 million (£25m).

Beto joined Udinese permanently last summer after a successful loan spell from Portimonense and has netted 21 goals in Serie A.

Everton had reportedly opened talks with the Italian outfit earlier this week and went onto make an initial bid of around £22m, however the Toffees were expected to fail in their pursuit due to his valuation.

With only days remaining of the summer transfer window, Everton are desperate to get the deal done for Beto and have reportedly now matched Udinese’s price tag for the 25-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier today that the two parties were still in discussions, though Beto was open to a move to Goodison Park.

It looks like Beto and Everton will now both get their wish, with the Portuguese forward now set to undergo his medical on Sunday before signing his contract on Monday.

Udinese have reportedly already approached Juventus over a loan deal for striker Kaio Jorge, which could suggest they are already planning for life without Beto.

Beto is the striker Everton will finally sign this summer

The Toffees look set to land Beto instead of Che Adams, who looked close to a move to Merseyside last week.

The Scot was the subject of a £15 million bid, though it appears Southampton wanted more for their striker – despite having only a year left on his contract.

Sean Dyche’s side should have a deal wrapped up for Beto before the transfer deadline, while they will want to spend the last few days adding further attackers to their squad.

Jack Harrison, Youssef Chermiti and Arnaut Danjuma have also joined the club this summer, though the former two are yet to make their debut as they sit on the sidelines.
