Dominic Calvert-Lewin could now be an injury concern following a latest training update.
Journalist Alan Myers took to X today and claimed that the Everton striker has been training ‘away from the main group’.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has arguably been one of the unluckiest players in the Premier League in terms of injuries in recent seasons, spending almost a whole year on the sidelines since 2021.
The forward was desperate to reignite his career this time round, however a collision with Emi Martinez back in August put him out of action for another month.
Calvert-Lewin has since returned to the side and has shown glimpses of his old self, scoring three goals in five games following his comeback.
Myers has now given an update on the attacker ahead of Everton’s meeting with Nottingham Forest, claiming that Calvert-Lewin had been training inside away from the rest of the senior squad.
The journalist was later asked what was wrong with him, to which he replied: “I think just being careful”.
Another fan asked him if it could be illness related, with Myers replying: “My guess would be the weather and risk of muscle aches etc, but I’m no physio tbf I’m sure it’s just precautionary.”

How important is Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Everton now?
Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn’t scored for the Toffees since the 1-0 win over West Ham in October, however he has played a key role in the team’s upturn in form.
The 26-year-old is clearly Sean Dyche‘s first choice up top and it makes sense for them to be careful with him if it avoids any major injury over Christmas.
Calvert-Lewin has been very unfortunate with injury problems and it would be a huge loss to lose him, especially given the congestion of fixtures over the next month or so.
Hopefully it is nothing to be concerned about and the striker will continue his run in the starting line-up this weekend.
Alan Myers also mentioned that Amadou Onana is training away from the main group, with the Belgian out of action since the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.
Beto is back in full training and will be eager to pick up some game time over winter, having only played 80 minutes of football since he was dropped from the starting line-up in September.
Meanwhile, Andre Gomes has also returned to first team training after a lengthy absence. The midfielder hasn’t featured for Everton since May 2022, having spent last season on loan with Lille.
