Julen Lopetegui has been speaking about Everton and Sean Dyche ahead of this weekend’s clash at the London Stadium, and he made a rather interesting comment.
Everton have often struggled with rough patches under Sean Dyche, as four negative losses are often followed by four positive ones and vice versa.
If history repeats itself then the Toffees could be in for a rough few weeks, and Dyche may not have a job for much longer, as he’s already under pressure from the prospective new owners.
A win against West Ham would take a lot of pressure off the Englishman and get fans back on his side.
Although, fans wouldn’t be so annoyed if it wasn’t for the drab performances that offer no attacking intent or thoughts of possession.
Interestingly, Julen Lopetegui has delivered his verdict on Everton and has made an interesting comparison to last season’s game at the London Stadium.

Julen Lopetegui makes honest assessment of Everton now compared to last season
Everton managed to get the better of West Ham with a 1-0 win at the London Stadium last season thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
It’s a slightly different atmosphere this time round, with both Lopetegui and Dyche in trouble.
However, that hasn’t stopped the West Ham boss from showering praise on Everton, despite the loss to Southampton last time out.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, Lopetegui said this.
“I have seen a very good match a very good team sorry, when I look at them, analyse them, I think that is um better and better than the last year in my opinion.
“They have good players, one coach that he knows very well the Premier League with a big experience and I think that they they improve as a team, they make more things and they improve as a team, and they show that.
“A very balanced and compete team so we have to make the decision about the opponent, we have to put the focus.”

How were Everton fairing this time last season?
Well, after 10 games in the 2023-2024 campaign, Everton were on just two points, but this was due to the points deduction, as they would have actually been on ten.
So, the Toffees are actually one point worse off right now and have conceded three more goals in the current campaign, which doesn’t suggest an improvement at all.
The attacking side of things has been the same, with ten goals scored at the same point last season.
Losing Amadou Onana impacted on the quality left in the middle of midfield, but then again Everton have strengthened out wide with Iliman Ndiaye’s performances in particular.
