Former Everton forward Kevin Campbell has now said that Seamus Coleman is a definite club legend.
Indeed, Campbell has said that despite the player’s denial, club captain Seamus Coleman can consider himself a legend at Goodison Park.
Signed for a mere £60,000 back in 2009, Coleman has made over 350 Premier League appearances for the Toffees and has been one of the most consistent players for over a decade.

However, speaking on BBC Sport’s Everton podcast: The inside story of 2022-23, the Irish international revealed that he does not think of himself as a legend at Goodison Park.
Coleman said: “Club legend? Not for me, because in my opinion, you have to have won something at a football club to be a club legend.
I’ll be someone that has played 300 or 400 games forever, but club legend? Not in my eyes.”
However, fellow fan favourite Kevin Campbell wasted no time in correcting the 35-year-old Everton right-back via his Twitter account.
Campbell tweeted: “Well you are, Seamus Coleman.”
Seamus Coleman has earned the legend moniker for his dedication to Everton Football Club
With nine league titles, five FA Cups and a European Cup Winners’ Cup, Everton are one of the most successful clubs in the history of English football.
However, the Toffees are currently in the midst of their longest period without lifting silverware, stretching back to the 1995 FA Cup win over Manchester United.
Indeed the Blues have countless legends that brought success to Goodison Park, such as Dixie Dean, Howard Kendal and Neville Southall, and while players from the modern era cannot be compared to certain giants of the club, they can still be considered a legend.

Coleman’s contribution as a stalwart of Everton’s starting XI during a turbulent time for the club ensures his status as a modern icon, alongside the likes of Kevin Campbell whose goals guaranteed Premier League survival back in 1999.
In the eyes of countless Everton fans, Seamus Coleman can be considered a club legend, though no doubt he would cement his place amongst the greats should be lift silverware before his time at Goodison Park comes to an end.
