Kevin Campbell has shared his delight at Everton’s win in the Carabao Cup.
Taking to X, the former striker posted a message of supporter after the Toffees claimed a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa.
Like their trip to Brentford, Everton headed to Villa Park as the underdogs and proved everyone wrong as they picked up back-to-back wins for the first time in over a year.
Goals from James Garner and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, accompanied by a number of errors and all-round poor display from Aston Villa, will see Everton compete in the Cup’s fourth round next month.
Sean Dyche had handed Calvert-Lewin his first start since he was forced off in their 4-0 hammering by Villa earlier this season, with the striker netting for the second game in a row.
The Toffees looked like a completely difficult team that were thrashed by Unai Emery’s side only six weeks ago and it has clearly delighted the supporters after a positive few days.
Campbell, who scored over 100 goals for both Arsenal and Everton, took to X to address both of his former side’s victories in the Carabao Cup.
The 53-year-old wrote: ‘The Arsenal and Everton through to the next round’, alongside a number of emojis that included two hearts and a football.
Campbell and Everton fans will also be delighted with their upcoming fourth round tie, with the Toffees now set to face Burnley in October.
Sean Dyche will take on his former side for the first time after he spent ten years at Turf Moor prior to his arrival on Merseyside.
It’s certainly a winnable fixture for Everton too, with the Clarets currently sat 19th in the Premier League table.
