Everton fans have called for transparency from within their club for years now, and at last that is what they are getting.
Farhad Moshiri had made a veiled attempt to ease such frustrations, with little success, given his claims were often paper thin. The trust had long since been eroded between the fanbase and their owner, with his touted exit welcomed by most.
To see the Iranian billionaire slump back into the shadows has been a welcome sight, with more intelligent and useful figures instead taking the reins it seems.
As such, the progress has been startling and there for all to see.
Kevin Thelwell is seemingly being allowed to head the operation, with their steps towards earning stability stark. His recent appearance on the VS Sporting Directorβs podcast only added to the recent in-depth talks Evertonians craved, with that transparency reaching new levels as he even referenced the impending takeover.

With 777 Partners still awaiting confirmation of a deal they agreed back in September, Evertonβs director of football noted: βRight at this moment, who knows because we are in the middle of a takeover and weβre not quite sure how long that takeover is going to take. We are in the middle of an independent commission around PSR. Iβm not quite sure what the answer is to that.
βWe have to plan for every eventuality. The one thing they (fans) can depend on is that we will be looking at ways to improve the team.β
When did Everton appoint Kevin Thelwell?
Having appointed Frank Lampard in January of 2022, it is worth outlining that such a decision was not made by Thelwell, who joined the club just a month later.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers sporting director made the move from New York, courtesy of a call from Bill Kenwright, and could not turn down the opportunity to return to England.
Since then, transfers and managerial movements have at last made sense, with a clear vision finally being put in place. That is, after all, the absolute minimum that fans expected.
Sacking the former Chelsea man nearly a year later, his first real foray into management selection at Everton saw him opt for Sean Dyche, with that success already well-established.

However, plucking the likes of Amadou Onana, James Garner, James Tarkowski, Dwight McNeil and more in fine deals had likely alerted fans to his intelligence.
With 777 Partnersβ takeover massively in doubt, and Financial Fair Play continuing to threaten the Toffees, at least under Thelwell they are set for a more successful and sustainable future.
