Everton are a club very much in transition, both on and off the pitch.
After all, whilst Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche work to bolster their squad, Farhad Moshiri is deep into negotiations with Dan Friedkin, desperate to sell the club to the American.
The AS Roma owner showcased his ability to walk in and take control of a struggling outfit when he first took on the Italian job, and it seems like he could well do the same now on Merseyside, albeit with far more hurdles to overcome.
However, this latest piece of change has come rather out of the blue, and surely has little to do with Friedkin.
Goodison Park stadium announcer to leave Everton
Taking to X, Graeme White is a name that might not resonate with most Evertonians. After all, why would it?
Well, everyone who has visited Goodison Park in the last decade will certainly know his voice, given he has had the pleasure of being the stadium announcer throughout that nine-year period.

However, that seems sadly set to come to a close, as he would write: ‘After 9 years as stadium announcer. Last week. I was informed that my match-day contract was not being renewed. The club have moved to an established “Name” as they change to in vision presenting for Goodison’s last season. Thanks for the memories. Loved every minute’.
This marks one of what promises to be numerous changes made throughout this transformative summer.
A complete refresh at Everton
This, whilst it might seem inconsequential to most, is actually really sad news.
After all, not only does it mark the loss of a job for this man, but it also cuts short an iconic partnership, with his voice iconic and renowned to almost all Evertonians.
And yet, his face will be known to far fewer.

However, it is people like this that make the match-day experience so great, and it is therefore never nice to see them depart.
It does however mark a refresh for the Toffees, who need a serious revamp from top to bottom.
This is only a small example, but it might actually mark the catalyst that conjures up mass change throughout the club.
Whether this is Dan Friedkin’s doing or not is unknown, and whether it will succeed remains to be seen.
