Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shed light on his time at Everton so far last night on Monday Night Football – and admitted there is something about the club that has really surprised him.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been a revelation for the Toffees this season, after transferring to the club from Chelsea last summer.

There were a few raised eyebrows when Everton paid £28 million for him.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is one of the best signings Everton have made in years, isn’t he?!

Not only does he have great final third output, but he's got the work-rate to boot 🔥

But Dewsbury-Hall has made that fee look a total snip, grabbing 14 goal contributions in 27 Premier League games so far.

Had he not suffered a hamstring injury, he could easily have pushed closer to the 20 mark by now.

But Dewsbury-Hall is pleased with how things have gone so far, and last night he shared what’s surprised him about the club.

Evertonians have really taken Dewsbury-Hall to their hearts already.

Not only has he been brilliant on the pitch, being influential both on the ball and out of possession, but he’s also said all the right things, and spoken with clarity and passion.

He did that once again last night as he appeared as a pundit on Monday Night Football.

After the Manchester United versus Brentford game, Dewsbury-Hall was asked about life at Everton – and the midfielder can’t quite believe the scale of Everton as a club.

He admitted: “It has shocked me to be honest.

“Obviously as a big football fan, I know how big the club is in England. But it’s such a big club, there’s so many fans everywhere – it’s surprised me for sure.”

Dewsbury-Hall feels like a future Everton captain

There will potentially be a change of club captain this summer at Everton, with Seamus Coleman likely to leave when his playing contract ends.

James Tarkowski will step into the role should that happen.

But Tarkowski himself is not getting any younger and won’t be at the club for too much longer.

There are a few good candidates to succeed Tarkowski, including James Garner and Jarrad Branthwaite.

But Dewsbury-Hall himself should be firmly in contention.

He always speaks honestly and from the heart, and you can just tell he has his head screwed on. He also clearly plays in an inspirational way, so he definitely has the potential to skipper Everton some day.
