Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell has now said he would like to see Sean Dyche change the formation at the Toffees.
The Blues have been short upfront since Sean Dyche’s January arrival, but with the £26m summer arrival of Beto and the fit-again Dominic Calvert-Lewin available, playing two upfront has become a possibility.
Indeed, during yesterday’s press conference ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Brentford, Sean Dyche suggested that he would like to play Everton’s striking duo together, provided it suits the rest of the team.

Dyche said: “I’ve always liked playing with two strikers, but it’s got to suit the rest of the team where possible. You’ve got to have the players that can work in midfield, but I do like two strikers when I can.”
Everton fan channel ToffeeTV posted the quote from Dyche’s press conference on their Twitter account, prompting former player Kevin Campbell to comment with his preferred formation for the Blues.
Campbell commented: “3-5-2 Let’s Go.”
Dyche must be ready to take risks as Everton are in need of something special to get season off the ground
Everton have scored just two Premier League goals in the opening five games of the season and Beto looked isolated against Arsenal last week.
He was replaced by Calvert-Lewin in the second half, but the like-for-like substitution had little effect without a necessary change in formation.
Playing two target men upfront would suit Sean Dyche’s style of play, and as Campbell states, if the Blues pack the midfield with a 3-5-2 formation, it could pay dividends in attack.

With a tricky trip to Brentford tomorrow, Sean Dyche is unlikely to experiment away from home, though Everton’s next home game is Luton Town, which could provide the Toffees with an opportunity to play two upfront.
With just one point on the board, something is clearly not working for Everton at the minute so perhaps a change in formation is just what the Toffees need.
