Lewis Dobbin has lauded the Everton fanbase for their reaction after his goal against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Lewis Dobbin has broken through at Everton this season and is impressing many with his displays in blue. Dobbin scored his first senior goal for The Toffees against Chelsea earlier this month – an amazing moment for the Stoke-born winger.

After he scored his first senior goal for Everton, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was among the first to congratulate him.

Sean Dyche was also full of praise for Dobbin as he admitted he was ‘absolutely delighted’ to see the 20-year-old score. With Dobbin’s authentic reaction to scoring being a very ‘pleasing’ thing to Sean Dyche.

Now, Dobbin has issued some praise of his own to the Everton fans during a recent interview.

Dobbin has been speaking with the Liverpool Echo and in doing so has touched upon his season to date

“Evertonians are unbelievable”, Dobbin began to explain before he continued to thank the fans for their support.

“They have always been good with me over the past few years but the reaction after the goal against Chelsea was crazy. I’m just extremely thankful and grateful to them. It just makes me want more and to contribute to a team they can be proud of.”

Dobbin has shown already that he deserves his position at the club, but he will no doubt be motivated to continue in this vein – in order to force his way into the starting line-up.

How much does Lewis Dobbin earn at Everton?

Dobbin has been an Everton player since his career began – with a loan at Derby the only time he spent away from the club. Still relatively raw and new to the first team, Dobbin’s current contract reflects that.

According to Capology, Dobbin currently earns £8k-a-week which is substantially less than so many of his Everton teammates. That being said, given his breakout form this campaign, it’s highly likely that talks will soon commence over a new deal.

He has been fairly regular in the first-team which should in itself earn him a new contract at Goodison Park.
